BlackBerries Add 15 Hours to Work Week, Study Finds
The issue of paying overtime for workers who stay connected to the office via their Blackberries has prompted some companies to order workers to turn them off. And with good reason, according to a Telegraph.co.uk story.
From a study of 600 employees who carry BlackBerries, UK employment law firm Peninsula concluded that the devices compel people to work an extra 15 hours a week. It suggests employers urge workers to seek better work/life balance. This IntoMobile piece suggests employers take that 15 hours into account in scheduling or some legal action down the road might force it.
