Motorola Product Secures Wireless Networks
In an effort to help enterprises secure their Wi-Fi networks, Motorola’s AirDefense Wireless Vulnerability Assessment product allows IT departments to test security by simulating attacks from the hacker’s point of view, reports InformationWeek. According to the press release,
“By utilizing the radio of the wireless sensor to simulate a wireless client station, the solution enables IT administrators to conduct wireless vulnerability assessments remotely and from a hacker’s point of view.”
According to Motorola, the product could save companies money since there is no need to send personnel or a third party to manually conduct a WLAN vulnerability assessment. However, you can expect to spend at least $7,000 up front for the assessment modules, sensors and management console appliance.
Computerworld says you can expect the product to be available next month.
