Printer Market Down 20.2 Percent

The market for printers and copiers fell 20.2 percent in the first half of 2009 compared with the period a year ago, reports eWEEK.

Shipments for printers, copiers and multifunction printers totaled 51.3 million units, according to Gartner research. Office printers lead the decline at a 24.5 percent rate. Changing habits and the tight economy have companies rethinking exactly how much printing needs to be done, the story says.
