Singapore: No Immediates Plans for ‘Three-Strikes’ Law

It has been reported that Singapore is considering a three strikes law to prevent the downloading of pirated software. However,  the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore says there are no immediate plans for such a law, reports ITWorld.

“IPOS is not considering the introduction of such laws at the moment. Few countries have introduced such measures, and we will continue to monitor how these evolve before considering any such introduction here.”

UK, France and New Zealand has proposed such laws, but none have adopted the legislation. In fact, France’s highest legal authority ruled it unconstitutional because the law would have ended the presumption of innocence.
