Tr.im Going Open Source

It’s hard to keep up with URL shortening service tr.im, as IT Business Edge Ann All has found out.

 

In just eight days, it has gone from shutting down, to reopening in search of a buyer, to going open source, according to TechCrunch.

 

Core company Nambu’s latest plan is to provide the code for an open source community to manage in real time, according to ReadWriteWeb. It says founder Eric Woodward plans to foot the bills himself. And like many open source communities, it already has a controversy, this one with rival Bit.ly.
