Microsofties Tweet about Bing 2.0
Showing the power — and potential damage — of Twitter, Microsoft employees revealed the company plans to launch a new version of search engine Bing next week, reports seattlepi.com. When asked about it, a company spokesperson declined to say when the new version would be out.
The tweets came after a demo of Bing 2.0 at the company meeting and, given Microsoft’s layoffs of late, you have to wonder whether these folks will get to keep their jobs.
Employees also reported seeing some thin new laptops featuring Windows 7, according to PCWorld.com.
It turns out only about 20,000 employees were expected at the Safeco Field shindig, about half that previously reported. And TechFlash reports the company trimmed spending on food, production and other aspects of the event by about 15 percent. “Saturday Night Live’s” Seth Meyers still played host, though.
